I didn’t have to wait much. The cleaning was done very well and fast. The hygienist was friendly and helpful to provide tips on how to maintain my teeth. The doctor was prompt to come by and conduct the annual exam. The receptionist was able to answer most of my questions about what my insurance pays for.
GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!!! They told me I had 6 cavities and were trying to get me to pay out of pocket. After getting a second opinion they said I had zero cavities and my teeth were in great health. Very disappointing to see this company is just out for your money. Don’t go here. I would give 0 stars if I could :)
PLEASE READ! I was a patient at Modern Dental for almost four years and always saw Dr. Amy, who was wonderful. I never had any issues with her care. Unfortunately, after she left, my experience completely changed. The new dentist told me I needed a crown on a molar that had never given me pain or problems. I asked if she could simply refill the existing cavity instead. During the appointment, after drilling halfway through my tooth, she insisted a crown was necessary—leaving me with no real choice at that point. About a year later, during a routine cleaning, I was told I needed yet another crown. That’s when I knew something wasn’t right. I requested my x-rays and sought second opinions from two independent dentists. Both confirmed that I did not need a crown on that molar—or the other one that now has a crown. I was furious. While Dr. Amy was there, I never had a conversation about needing a crown. I take excellent care of my teeth, and my oral health has only improved over the years with her guidance. It became clear that this practice was pushing unnecessary procedures, likely because I have good dental insurance through my job—they often commented on how “great my insurance was.” Needless to say, I stopped going to Modern Dental. It's clear that this practice focuses on profit over patient care. Shame on you Modern Dental. Maybe only a legal malpractice action will make them stop pushing unnecessary procedures. I hope potential patients are cautious and do their own research.
Very Unprofessional and Uncomfortable Experience – I Do Not Recommend!!!!! This was by far one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had in a supposed “professional” setting. At first, I went in for a chipped front tooth, expecting a simple filling. Instead, they immediately pushed for invasive and unnecessary procedures like crowns or veneers — even on perfectly healthy teeth. It felt more like a sales pitch than genuine dental care, clearly motivated by profit rather than my best interest. Worse, Just less than two days after the work they did (filling the main tooth and smoothing down the other, that had a filling) the tooth they altered, chipped because it was so fragile after she smoothed it down too much — and they refused to take any responsibility. The dental assistant became extremely aggressive, getting in my face, interrupting repeatedly, and creating a very hostile environment. I had to ask her to back away, and eventually, I felt so uncomfortable I had to leave the office. Regardless of who is right or wrong, no one should ever be treated that way in a healthcare setting. I left feeling shaken, disrespected, and extremely disappointed with their professionalism. I strongly advise finding a dental practice that treats patients with respect and professionalism and that offers honest advice rather than looking for ways to get more money out of you. This was not that!!! Save yourself from a bad experience outside of a simple dental cleaning. Office : Modern Dental on Clark.
I loved Modern Dental for a while. It was convenient and everyone was friendly and helpful. But the work they've done on my teeth in recent years has been horrible, and I do not recommend them for anything beyond basic cleaning. They talked me into veneers to match a front tooth that had to have a crown, and as a way to close my a gap without something like Invisalign. One cracked, and I had to go back to the place that makes the veneers twice because they got the shade match wrong. The final tooth they put in my mouth is partially see-through. You can see my original tooth underneath it and it's hideous. The backs of my front teeth are not smooth or even, and the texture of the veneers on my front two teeth is different. I also have a crown put on by their office. It fell off out of nowhere, and they redid it again and said it won't come off again. Except it just fell out again, out of nowhere. I take care of my teeth, and I'm SO disappointed with that they've done to my mouth. They're fine for cleanings, but I strongly encourage going somewhere else for any other work you need/ want done.
