My appointment was for a cleaning with Grace. She's very easy to talk with and at the same time very professional doing her job. I always enjoy my visits!
My wife and I and our two now grown children have been patients of this practice for more than a decade, including before Dr Casel took over for Dr Domanski. A little over two years ago, I had a crown done at this office by the other dentist. Last night, the crown came out while I was drinking a coffee. I temporarily cemented it back in and called the office the next morning and they were able to see me that day. At the appointment, they removed the crown to evaluate the tooth. They told me that a filling they had placed under the crown had come out as well, and that there was additional decay under the crown. Their proposed treatment was a tooth repair and a new crown. Because insurance will only cover a crown on the same tooth once every five years, I was told I would be responsible for the full $2,741 cost. The reason I was given for the practice not sharing any responsibility for the replacement cost was that I had stopped coming there for routine cleanings. I found that extremely disappointing. A crown should last more than 2.5 years. I have other crowns from my time in the Navy that have lasted more than 20 years. I declined to proceed with the treatment and left. A few minutes later, I went back inside and asked that they at least return me to the condition I was in when I arrived by re-cementing the crown they had removed during the appointment. They declined, handed me a packet of two-part dental cement, and asked me to leave. While I was understandably upset during the conversation with the office manager, I did not yell, curse, threaten anyone, or behave aggressively. I was very direct about the inappropriateness of their refusal to back their own work . About an hour later, I received a call from a Jupiter police officer because the office had contacted law enforcement to no trespass me. After this experience, I will not be returning to this practice. The issue is not simply that the crown failed. It is that the practice refused to stand behind work which failed after a relatively short period of time (work for which they were paid in full) and then placed the full financial burden to redo their work on me. They declined to even just put my crown back in place after removing it, and then also chose to further escalate the situation by calling the police after I questioned their decisions. I would recommend looking elsewhere for dental care. Our family of four will never be back. Ten years ago, I would have strongly recommended this practice to friends and family. Today, that is no longer the case.
I aways have a positive experience when I go to Modern Dentistry of Jupiter. Everyone knows their job and performs it at a Top level. They are friendly, Professional, provide all Dental Services, no getting sent to other Dental Professionals. You are NOT shuffled off to different people each time you go. You have your own team of people who you get to know and trust. Go and find out what Quality Dentistry is all about.
I think that Modern Dentistry provides excellent care. I particularly like my dentist, Dr Casal. He is the reason I came to this practice. I was very disappointed today to arrive at my appointment to find that Dr Casal was not there to provide my care. I was given no advance notice. I received a thorough cleaning and was happy with that. I was, however, not happy to be pressured to consider cosmetic services. I am a few weeks away from becoming 88 years of age and made it clear that at my age, cosmetic work was not something of interest to me. I want the best oral health care, but not beauty care. The pressure continued and included before and after pictures. I found it offensive. I reluctantly agreed to xrays which I was told was necessary even though a complete set of xrays taken 6 months ago was sent to Modern Dentistry by my PA dentist. I regret allowing it. I do not believe they were truly necessary, and the bill at checkout was astounding due to the xrays --- $555 for a cleaning and a few pictures, That is double the amount I paid in PA for a cleaning and a FULL set of xrays. Needless to say, I was happy with the cleaning and not happy about everything else. I know healthcare is costly, and I expect a healthy bill for good care, but I was not happy with what went down today, except for the cleaning. I made my appointment for next year but hope that Dr Casal will be there and that my visit will be "back to normal" If not, I will look for other options,
I was very pleased with the services provided at Modern Dentistry. They did outstanding work, I experienced no pain whatsoever at all. I recommend them without any reservation. Grace was the Dental Hygienist who cleaned my teeth, Dr. Casell examined me and recommended that I replace a damaged filling with an Inlay. Amber performed scans to take measurements for the inlay. Dr. Casell did preliminary work of grinding the area and installed a temporary Inlay while the permanent one was being fabricated.
