the experience was like no other, I could hear my daughter laughing, enjoying herself at the dentist. The staff was incredible, took very good care of her and are very knowledgeable. The dentist explained everything in detail and showed me what needed to be done. I can say this was a great dentist and am so so happy to of found her.
The new owners are letting this practice go entirely downhill. I’m honestly baffled and still in shock at my experience with the new hygienist. She spent no more than ten minutes cleaning my teeth; even less if you count the time she took her hands out of my mouth to talk with her hands. She definitely didn’t scrape or floss every tooth, and the polishing was minimal- just on the front of my teeth. I’ve never left a dentist office in my entire life feeling like I simply brushed my teeth myself. There was no “dentist clean” feeling at all. It took longer to drive the 5 miles to the office than what was spend on my mouth. What’s even more strange is she was telling me how when she was temping, she’d have to stay late or give patients to other hygienists because she took too much time with her patients and would get scolded by that owner… not anymore, that’s for sure! Maybe she’s traumatized from that place, but this was just super bizarre. I will say everyone was very friendly, polite, and they didn’t try to push additional services, etc., so that’s one plus.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I was a patient of Dr John Sartorio’s for over 30 years. He and his staff were amazing. Never once had an issue. Always received the best care. The new company Pearl Dentistry recently took over due to his retirement and it’s awful! The hygienist Stephanie was unprofessional and incompetent. She started by not using a protective lead shield for X-rays, she did not use the proper size bite piece for the Xray and instead repeatedly jammed it into my mouth. She did not scrape or clean any tarter or plaque off my teeth. She ran the tool around them in a matter of a few minutes and that was her cleaning. When it was time to polish the teeth she aggressively and roughly smeared the paste all over my top teeth in the front with the polisher because she stated she “did not have time to do each tooth individually” - in addition she complained about having to clean my permenant retainer. All of this while trying to tell me all the products I needed to purchase from her to “help my teeth”. The entire “cleaning” took less then 15 minutes. It was the worst experience I have ever had. It is a shame what this company ia doing to Dr Sartorio’s amazing dental office. The new doctor, Dr Monaco, did not even inspect my teeth just “lightly” took a tool across them. She stated “if I felt fine then all was good.” I am appalled at this lack of professionalism. You would think they would go above and beyond to ensure all of Dr Sartorio’s established patients continue to stay with the new company but it was as if they did not care at all. A truly awful experience.
I used this practice as i was formerly a patient of Dr Sartorio and was very pleased with his practice. I was told by Dr Quest that the practice required patient to have annual X-rays—that if i wanted to be a patient i did not have a choice. I will not go back to this practice and i feel they should disclose this before treating you, as i had explained not wanting X-rays to the hygienist and she seemed fine with that.
It’s always hard to visit a new dentist for the first time, but, Dr. Monaco is very easy to talk to. Very professional yet down to Earth. I enjoyed my visit today and will definitely continue to be a patient.
