⭐☆☆☆☆ Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication and Wasted Time I had a very disappointing experience with Smile Design Dentistry in Plantation. I called ahead to schedule a new patient appointment for both X-rays and a dental cleaning. I arrived at my scheduled appointment time, had my X-rays taken, and was then told that I was not scheduled for a cleaning and would have to come back another day. To make matters worse, I was charged $50 for the X-rays and left without receiving the cleaning I specifically called to schedule. This was incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of my time. I made the appointment expecting to receive both services, so I do not understand why I was given an appointment for only part of what I requested without being informed beforehand. A dental office should communicate clearly with patients and ensure they understand what services are scheduled before they arrive. It is unacceptable to have a new patient take time out of their day, show up expecting a cleaning and X-rays, and then leave having paid $50 without receiving the cleaning they came for. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and organization. I hope management addresses this issue so other patients do not have to go through the same frustrating experience. I have been visiting this office from time to time for nearly 15 years. Dr that was initially there over 15 years ago, returned to Jamaica. The owner aDr. Kern 🙏🏾💔🕊️, passed away. They were AMAZING!!! NOW, from experience some of the staff truly wishy-washy! and under the same umbrella. Myriam, the hygienist has been there forever, before my time so I’ll say about 20-25 years, not sure but she definitely cares. She’s great! Spencer the assistant is pretty great too. However, some statements were made where I heard it and wanted to see if it would be discussed. But as we can see below! Cautions: options for dental care and/or if you need to discuss payment plans or what their office plans accepted I encourage you to be sure to open your mouth about your concerns and ask questions to get answers, that way you will know how to proceed with this office as their process of returning funds for unsatisfactory work and statements are NOT to par, and a complaint may be absolutely necessary to the Consumer Affairs Dental complaint unit! Speaking on recent experience! This office has changed drastically in their disposition since the passing of Dr. Kern, rest his soul. It’s money and nothing else! The office manager failed to understand that her employee made a statement that unbeknownst to her that I heard for my herself, and confirmed the statement either the employee in the presence of another a couple of weeks ago, when I had to see a third dr because the two before had left this place, that speaks volumes! I heard the assistant tell Dr that a temp post was out before he even came in touched me! and he proceeded to complete a procedure that was NOT going to work in the beginning, but Instead being completely honest before hand rather than after! He elaborates. However, he left the facility 2 weeks after I was suppose to see him again! I have ZERO faith, comfort or trust at this facility and this is based simply in MY RECENT EXPERIENCE! This office fails to refund your HARD earning funds and expect you to still treat at their facility is diabolical and absolutely crazy! I’ll take my chances on results after my complaint and would be more satisfied with the results rather than to go in a place with absolutely NO FAITH in them! I’ll take door 1 Alex! PERIODT!!!! Hi crazy is that! They expect to keep your funds, after their failed work and dishonesty and want you to continue being a patient! What kind of water these people are drinking? Kat🌹

I had a wonderful experience with Smile Design Dentistry! The friendly, professional staff made me feel comfortable and cared for, while their attention to detail and clear explanations stood out. I’m very happy with my visit and highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent dental care! 😊🦷✨

I have been visiting this office from time to time for nearly 15 years, and I would have to say I had NO bad experiences on any type. Dr. C is truly amazing, great mannerism, and really engages with the patients, as myself. One thing I love about Dr. Castano is that he puts me in the memory of another Dr that was initially there over 15 years ago, as well as Dr. Kern 🙏🏾💔🕊️, so I would personally say for myself, Thank goodness because I have manners that are serious to me and Dr. Castano has not made me felt like my concerns are not important to him thus far as of 8/26/26. I have been seeing him for the past 25 months. I can truly say that feel that it was ordained for this office to get such a great dentist as Dr. C in my personally opinion. Dr. Castano has displayed the same energy as the previous dentist that I love and referred some of my family members to their office as I want them to feel comfortable and safe when services are rendered, as well. The staff are very nice and polite just as much. Myriam, the hygienist has been there forever, before my time so I’ll say about 20-25 years, not sure but she definitely cares about her parents and very encouraging. This is my true testimony as of this date 8/27/26. The Entire office, this far has been Amazing. There’s only one thing I suggest because people seem to think there’s no options for dental care and/or if you need to discuss payment plans or what their office plans accepted I encourage you to be sure to open your mouth about your concerns and ask questions to get answers, that way you will know how to proceed with the dental you desire. I had a good at this dental office! Got an appointment within 1 day of my request. The staff is very nice, professional, and welcoming, and the entire visit was smooth and comfortable. Everyone took the time to answer my questions and made me feel cared for. I truly appreciate the excellent service and would definitely recommend this office to others.

This was an exceptionally excellent experience. Dentist was friendly and hygienist did an amazing job on my cleaning, so did the X-ray Tech. Highly recommend making an appointment.

Great experience. Staff was calm and accommodating and broke down all questions answered while leaving no room for confusion. Highly recommend anyone looking for a friendly and soft atmosphere type of office, to check in.

The staff is welcoming and made me feel comfortable during both visits. After getting my braces off, I came in for a cleaning and later returned for a gingivectomy. Dr. Castano was honest and let me know I didn’t actually need the procedure instead of taking my money. That level of integrity is honorable. Their honesty and professionalism made me feel confident continuing my dental care here. 10/10 definitely recommend!

Came here due to having wisdom teeth issues and honestly left vert content. As someone who is squeamish when it comes to dental procedure, Dr. Castano was very nice and empathetic. He is very funny and makes you feel calm during the extractions. Highly reccomend 10/10.

Absolutely love this dental office. I have been going here for years and because of them, I visit as often as my insurance will allow it. I recommend Smile Design to anyone who is looking for a dentist, and quite a few of my friends and coworkers have gone - they all love it too!

They did a complete evaluation of my mouth and teeth, explained everything clearly, and let me know what I need to treat and improve for a perfect smile.
