Cottonwood Dental

I came here for a couple of cleanings and a consultation. The only reason I’m giving this office 2 stars is because I was told I needed a root canal, and they scheduled the appointment for me. That was essentially the extent of the explanation I received. Less than 24 hours before my appointment, I was sent the consent forms. One sentence in the consent form caught my attention. It stated something along the lines of, “I was offered or told that I could receive treatment from a specialist.” I was not told this or offered this option. I did sign the form, that was my bad. However, once I noticed that statement, I started doing my own research because, in reality, I had not been given that information. I decided that I would prefer to have the procedure performed by a specialist, so I tried to cancel the appointment. I was then charged a cancellation fee, which I had also not been informed about beforehand. I believe the main issue was that the consent forms were not sent to me until less than 24 hours before the appointment. Had I received them a few days earlier, I would have had enough time to read them carefully, ask questions, research my options, and realize that I wanted to schedule the treatment with a specialist instead. I don’t mind paying the cancellation fee at this point because I feel more comfortable getting my treatment somewhere else. However, I do think patients should be given enough time to review consent forms and understand all of their treatment options before an appointment—especially when the procedure is something as significant as a root canal.

I get my regular checked up and cleaning here. Staff are very kind and helpful and the office is very clean. Other than cleaning and check up I haven’t done anything here but so far the service is great :)

I really don’t like going to the dentist—but the team here completely changed that for me! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, they instantly make you feel right at home. Cody, the dentist, is absolutely awesome—so easy to talk to, it honestly feels like catching up with a friend. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually don’t mind coming in now. 5 stars, no question

I have always had great service and care at Cottonwood Dental. Their front staff is very helpful and friendly. The dentist explains what needs to be done and why. They go the extra mile to make sure I am comfortable with the procedures. I love the hygienist, Becca, she is very thorough and gentle. I am finally OK with going to the dentist.
