The Sugar House Dentist

My husband and I were patients here for many years. I have quite severe medical trauma that they were aware of. Years ago I got a severe infection and Dr. Theurer responded in such a way that made me feel so good and comfortable we decided this was the right place for us. Eventually they added a new dentist and I had a terrible experience with her both visits I saw her and asked to not be scheduled with her in the future. Long story short is after that it became nearly impossible to schedule with anyone but her and I have to echo the comments about Kate (who used to be fantastic but seems to have become jaded) creating an overall toxic environment. If you cannot accommodate scheduling me with the dentist I have seen for nearly a decade then just let me know, dont bait and switch me at every appointment and then shame me or guilt me when I am not okay with that. I debated on leaving a review but realized I should never be put in a position that makes me feel like crying at the dentist and then feel like I am a problem for requesting a specific provider. It's not unreasonable after what I have experienced to want to feel safe with the people who are directly involved in my care. Thanks for the great years, Dr. Theurer. We have moved on. I want to update this after my husband has seen another dentist and I am encouraging him to leave a review as well, but it looks like this dental practice may have cost us a significant amount of money for my husbands dental health and been extremely deceptive and neglectful. We will be looking further into this.

I cannot say enough good things about The Sugar House Dentist. I’m currently in Salt Lake City helping my dad through surgery, and of course, my veneer decided to fall off at the worst possible time. Dental issues are stressful enough, but dealing with one while traveling for family reasons felt overwhelming. From the very first phone call, Liz at the front desk was incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring. She listened, understood the urgency, and was able to get me in the very next day. That alone was such a gift during an already stressful week. When I arrived, the entire team was welcoming and professional. The quality of care was truly outstanding. The repair was done beautifully and efficiently, and I felt completely confident in the dentist’s skill and attention to detail. What could have been a frustrating experience turned into one that was smooth, positive, and surprisingly comforting. I’m so grateful for how easy they made everything. I called because I had a filling break off and they were able to get me in the day after I called. My experience from the call to the visit was great. The person who greeted me when I walked in and took my payment was fabulous. I want to call out Richard, the dental assistant who has helped me at least twice now. What a kind, incredible human. I feel lucky to have such a great dental assistant who is not only great at their job but seems to genuinely care about people and it shines through. Thank you to the entire team for a great experience! In a world where to me it seems like customer service skills are becoming a lost art, they excel. You guys rock!

I saw Dr Feringa today and it was great! I had an emergency, one of my teeth broke in half yesterday and they were able to get me in this morning, get the tooth fix and ready to be crowned. I have to go back in 2 weeks for my permanent crown but I am happy I was able to find a place that could get me in and one that did such a fantastic job too. She is an awesome dentist.

After multiple visits to The Sugar House Dentist in Salt Lake City, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with this practice. While their office appears professional at first glance, the actual patient care falls significantly short of expectations. Appointment Scheduling and Wait Times The most frustrating aspect of this practice is their severe overbooking issue. Despite marketing themselves as "We Can See U Now," the reality couldn't be further from the truth. When I was diagnosed with what they described as a "major issue" with my gums, I was shocked to learn they couldn't schedule treatment for one to two months. For a supposedly urgent dental condition, this waiting period seems not only excessive but potentially harmful to patient health. The practice's approach gives the impression that their primary focus is maximizing revenue rather than prioritizing patient care. The contradiction between urgently diagnosing serious conditions while being unable to provide timely treatment raises serious questions about their priorities. It appears their business model relies on identifying as many billable issues as possible before patients potentially seek care elsewhere due to the extended wait times.
