SCAM!!! They tell you if you fill the form we can go ahead and schedule an appointment. I asked when can I get the soonest appointment the lady replied not until March but if there’s any cancellation which is so I can get you this week so I filled out the form and called back 10 mins later. This absolutely rude lady put me on a hold and transferred without telling me and then I had to call back again just for her to tell me the Thursday time slots are not available anymore. Literally 10 mins later and no date is available until March. After taking all my info my drivers license and insurance info and making me fill out a huge form. They also ask you your social security number, just to tell you there’s no slots. Unbelievable!! This was a waste of my time. Scammers!! Why do you take peoples personal information to tell them that no there’s no date until March. Liars!!
I had a very upsetting and uncomfortable experience at this dental clinic. I came all the way from Albany because my old dental clinic no longer accepts my insurance, so I had to find another place that did. I searched through so many dental clinics in Albany and many of them either did not work for me or were not taking new patients. After looking for a while, I finally found this clinic that accepted my insurance and even though it was far from me, I was willing to go because I needed dental care. This clinic was about 40 minutes away from me and I had to pay around $70 for an Uber just to get there. I already had a stressful morning trying to make it to the appointment and all I wanted was to get my teeth cleaned and leave. My appointment was on July 2 at 3:30 PM. When I got there, I was hoping for a normal cleaning, but the way I was treated made me feel ignored, embarrassedand uncomfortable. During the cleaning, the person cleaning my teeth barely communicated with me. She did not really give me directions like “open wider” “close your mouth” “turn this way” or “rinse” I was just expected to know what to do. That might seem small to some people, but when someone is working inside your mouth with dental tools, communication matters. As the patient, I cannot see what is happening or know what the next move is. Not knowing what she was about to do made the appointment more stressful and uncomfortable than it needed to be. Another thing that really bothered me was that I was not given a bib or napkin over my chest. I noticed that other patients had one, but I did not. A bib is not just a random thing. It protects the patient’s clothes from water, saliva, toothpaste, polishing paste, blood and anything else that can come from a dental cleaning. I was wearing my own clothes and I should not have had to worry about them getting dirty during a medical or dental appointment. What made it worse was that tools were placed on my chest/clothing area during the cleaning. My clothes are not a tray or a table. Even if nothing ended up staining, that is not the point. The point is that I should not have had used dental tools placed on my clothing, especially when those tools were being used in or around my mouth. It felt careless and unprofessional and it made me feel like my comfort and cleanliness did not matter. After the cleaning, I was not given water to rinse my mouth. I also was not given a napkin or tissue to wipe my mouth. I was simply told to go down to check out. Before I left, I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and I saw blood around my mouth. I had to clean it up myself in the bathroom. That was honestly embarrassing and hurtful. I should not have been sent out like that, especially after a dental cleaning. If there was blood around my mouth, I should have been told, given something to wipe it with, or allowed to rinse. During the cleaning, I felt a sharp pain inside my mouth when the tool hit/cut me. My body flinched in that moment because I felt it happen. After that, the area became a painful sore/cut inside my mouth. It has now been about a week and it still hurts to eat, drink water, talk and brush my teeth properly. I felt the injury happen during the appointment and now it has affected my daily life. This whole experience really hurt me emotionally too. After talking about it with my friend, I broke down crying because I felt like I was treated with no care or dignity. I traveled far, paid money to get there, woke up early and trusted this clinic with my dental care, only to leave feeling embarrassed, ignored and physically hurt. I do not know the staff member’s intentions and I am not going to assume what was in her mind. But I do know how I was treated and I know how it made me feel. I felt singled out and not cared for the same way other patients appeared to be cared for. Basic things like a bib, communication, a rinse, a napkin and making sure a patient does not leave with blood around their mouth should not be too much to ask.
I am a new patient, and loved it here. Everyone is very friendly. They got me in for a teeth cleaning in the same week I called to fill out new patient forms. The dentist and assistants were very welcoming and friendly. I found out during my cleaning that I had to get a cavity removed and they were able to schedule me in the same day to remove it. I will definitely be going back for future cleanings. Shout out to Dr. Daniels and I believe her name was Claudia, they were amazing!
I’ve recently started going to Schoharie Dental and I love it! Everyone is so pleasant and kind. I was more than surprised and happy with the care they provided. Shout out to Claudia! Thank you for making my visits easier, you are so sweet.
Actual staff is nice when you can get a hold of them. Quick to not answer or screen calls when you’re annoying them, billing department won’t return calls and they schedule with docs outside of your network even after confirming the type you have. Treated my husband much worse than me or my son, not sure why but even more dismissive and not helpful with scheduling either. He had a root canal that needed to be done & they scheduled months out without even bothering to make sure he had meds to stay healthy. Don’t recommend.
I highly recommend this place. Dr. Sobero and the entire team is professional and knowledgeable. She is my orthodontist and I’ve been seeing her on a monthly basis for my braces. I love each visit! They are attentive, detail-oriented, and always willing to answer my questions. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
I had the best experience here, from the beginning to the end. I am truly so happy with my smile! Schoharie dental was so professional and understanding I will forever recommend them. ☺️ every single person there was so great! But a special thank you to my dentist, Dr. Z, she is the best!
