I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Smiles of Aurora. I went to this office for a root canal procedure, and my insurance was charged for a full treatment. However, the treatment was never actually completed, and I was not informed that it was incomplete. Instead, I was told that the treatment had already been completed. The following morning, I was in unbearable pain. I could barely move my mouth, so I called the office and asked to be seen as an emergency. I returned the very next day because of the severe pain. At that time, the office had the opportunity to address the situation and complete the root canal procedure, especially since I had already paid for it. However, I was still not told that the root canal had not actually been performed. After this experience, I went to another dentist for an evaluation. The dentist informed me that the root canal had never been done and that there was a piece of cotton left inside my tooth. This was extremely concerning and upsetting to learn after I had been told that my treatment was completed. What is also confusing is that my next appointment at Smiles of Aurora was scheduled for a crown, not for the completion of a root canal. That appointment was approximately three weeks later. If they now claim that the root canal was incomplete because I did not return to have it finished, then why was my next scheduled appointment for a crown rather than for the root canal treatment? They knew that I had returned the very next day in unbearable pain. At that point, they had the opportunity to inform me that the procedure had not been completed and to complete the treatment that had already been paid for. Instead, I was led to believe that the treatment was complete. I have also been told that the office is claiming that I visited multiple times regarding this treatment, which does not accurately reflect my experience. I believe patients deserve clear and honest communication about what treatment was actually performed, what has not been completed, and what they are being charged or billed to their insurance for. This experience has been extremely painful, stressful, and frustrating. I encourage anyone considering treatment at this office to ask detailed questions, request copies of their treatment plan and billing information, and make sure they clearly understand exactly what procedure has been performed before leaving the office.

Dr. Charlie has a calm demeanor and was gentle on my sensitive teeth. The hygienist was good too. There was a little confusion as to payment for the CT scan but.it was finally cleared up I think. I've had 2 crowns that did not need adjustments after being placed on my molars. Dunno if it's the tech who took the impressions, the lab or both but I'm grateful for that!

Dr Goetz and staff are very thorough. They make you feel very comfortable. I moved and went to a different dentist and came back to them because they're the best.

Besides everyone at least having a nice attitude I would not recommend going here. They prioritize quantity not quality. Everytime I have gone there is minimum 10 minute wait however this last time it was 30 so I left. No one called to forewarn me of them running 30 minutes or more behind, I did not give option to adjust my appt to a later time or day etc. Although team is nice I also prefer good customer service. No follow up with apology shows they do not care for their patients or their time.

I’ve been going to smiles of Aurora for many years now. I have always had a very positive experience with the staff as well as Dr Goetz. They are attentive to my needs and accommodating to my scheduling needs. They provide excellent care and have taken care of my dental needs successfully for many years. I continue to use Smiles of Aurora for the professionalism and except care!

My crown has come off twice after the original date and ive had similar issues with parts coming out abnormally after an appointment here. Reception only offers convenient appointments times when scheduling. I have to have a family member call to schedule appointments instead of myself because of the amount of times reception has priotized my family members over me. I am always told me it is a minimum of a month wait until I am able to come in or that the dentist is unavailable.

I have had some bad experiences with dentists in the past (one who should have retired but instead messed up the whole side of my face with two fillings). This dentist I went to for TMJ issues but it turned out to be a bone infection in my jaw after COVID (thanks, COVID, for delay of care!) and I was incredibly impressed with Dr. Goetz! I continue to go to him even though he is kind of far away. He is slow to suggest root canals/crowns and takes extra steps to disinfect inside the tooth so there is no chance of leftover issues (a big concern, coming from a very crunchy family.) I have never had such confidence in a dentist, and I will go to him as long as possible even with a commute.
