I had 2 appointments for my kids scheduled early morning. They both woke up sick the night before vomiting. So, like any person would I called first thing to let them know we would not be at the appointment. Nothing about a fee for this was mentioned. After the rescheduled appointments I thought the bill seemed high. I looked at the breakdown and saw they charged me $110 per kid (total of $220) for the cancelled appointments. Mind you, that both kids took a total of about 40 min to complete the checkup (they are 5 and 2yrs old). All Smiles blocked off a 2 hr time frame for this. I have talked with many other parents and never have they heard of such an absurd fee. I called and left a voicemail, and was given a text in response saying they would not refund the money. I will not go back again. That is encouraging people to put their staff at risk for illness if they cannot afford to pay for the cancellation fee. Of note I pay out of pocket for my kids dental care due to limited coverage options. What a disappointment. Do better All Smiles.
As always, the office was clean, everyone friendly and the appointment started on time. Last year I had an issue at 10pm and although not an emergency, I was seen at 2pm the next day. Things fixed in an hour. Can’t ask for more. Last night I had a crown pop off while on vacation. I left a message and received a call back first thing in the morning. I was given all my options for what needs done and how to access each option. In case I need it an appointment was squeezed in for the day after I return. Again: I could not have ask for a better response.
A consult with Lynn today. She gave me the information on the replacement of a front tooth and was very thorough on my options. Been seeing Lynn for many years and love her as my dentist!
Care is good, but billing and customer service is horrible. They don’t mail any bills or keep track of patient balances. They all of a sudden noticed I had a $1000 balance a year old!!! If you don’t have insurance or are out of network, be prepared to be treated like crap. They took zero responsibility and like other reviews they will just regurgitate their patient agreement instead of acknowledging they could have made better choices. Just wait, if they respond to this, they will claim the same. Even though they will bill out of network insurance as a “courtesy” they refused to do this for me claiming they didn’t know how and that ‘insurance companies won’t talk to them’ They originally attempted to submit a claim but it didn’t get submitted correctly (this is how the balance built up) and they had verbally agreed to try and bill insurance prior to me paying. Then, instead of monitoring my balance and notifying patients of their balance they blame me/patients that it’s our responsibility to keep track (again regurgitating their patient agreement that they don’t follow). They consider the print out of your visit as your notice of balance, that’s it. No calls, no mail, no nothing after that. They do not follow ADA best practice and recommendations for billing. You can look this up on the ADA website. As requested, I graciously put the work in and provided them with the information needed to resubmit the claim and they were still Completely incompetent and basically refused to put anymore effort in. Only after me complaining (this was me being rude quoted below), they attempted to call the number I provided them. They waited on hold for way too long then got mad at me for it. They never attempted to just look on the insurance website like I suggested. “Your correspondence is insulting and rude. Our front desk personnel was on hold this morning for 40 minutes without any person from CBA answering” is what Dr. Lynn wrote to me. It took me 2 minutes to find the claim form online. 🙄 The dentist was very rude and disrespectful to me. “Obviously you do not understand everything about insurance.” Is exactly what Dr. Lynn wrote to me in an email response when I had suggested an ROI. I payed my bill on time when asked for many years and I was very courteous about the balance initially. I have never ever been treated this way with any other provider,. Nor have I known a medical provider to not send bills. I’m willing to admit what I could have done better. I should have had better understanding of what our insurance would cover. They will never admit that they could have done anything different. I was well aware that I would owe unpaid balances, but I expect fair and reasonable treatment beyond a patient agreement. Don’t go there!!!! Saying sorry or acknowledging an error only after a google review is written is shameful. I spent months getting my balance paid despite how I was treated and considering the fact that medical debt under $500 does not affect credit!! Not once did anyone reach out to me to apologize or tell me what you just said below. I considered notifying the dental board, contacting a lawyer or an ombudsman. But here we are, too little too late. Patient satisfaction only matters to All Smiles when it’s public I guess.
I love this place! Lynn is great and so is the rest of the staff. They helped me get my smile back and I would recommend to others.
We love All Smiles! My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist! They wake up on appointment days so excited for their visit. The atmosphere there is so friendly and positive, and the hygienist and dentist are so kind and gentle. Hands down the best service that we’ve had at a dentist office. And their care is very personalized, no one-size-fits-all mentality, very individual and they put the patient in the driver’s seat. Can’t say enough good things, we are so happy that we made it to All Smiles!
