Main St. Dental

I’m giving three stars only because Elena and dr. Koen deserve five. I’ve been a patient here for a few years and have never had a problem. I’ve referred several people here as well, however I was disappointed with my most recent experience. I saw Dr. Bolano for the first time, and his bedside manner left a lot to be desired. During my appointment, he explained that my options were either an extraction with a bone graft in preparation for an implant or a bridge. However, when I received my treatment plan, it only included the extraction and bone graft. I had to ask the staff to rewrite it so that both treatment options were documented. I mentioned that I might see a dentist in another part of Texas who is a family friend for the implant and crown if I decided to go that route because it would save me several thousand dollars. After I said that, Dr. Bolano seemed to lose interest in the appointment. He removed his gloves, said "okay," and proceeded to walk out of the room. Whether I choose to have treatment at Main St. Dental or somewhere else shouldn't affect the level of care I receive. My insurance paid for this consultation, and I expected to leave with a complete treatment plan reflecting all of the options the doctor discussed so I could make an informed decision. Instead, I left feeling dismissed. Sadly, I won't be returning because of this experience.

All visits have been very good. All Dr.'s & Staff very friendly and helpful. They always want to make sure patient is comfortable and pain free. This Main St. Dental in Buda, Tx is the place to go. Should I ever have to move away, I know I would make the trip back just to get my dental needs taken care of here. They're the best.

I had a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and addressed all of my issues. They really are genuine and care about their patients. I recommend them.

I am very frustrated with this dental place. Very unprofessional in how they act and treat patients. Let me start off with a cancellation of my appointment on 1/26/26, I go to a university in Arlington TX and since this place is only open on the weekdays it’s hard for me to come down since I’m on my parents insurance. Yes I could have found one up here but with school and work I don’t have time. Now I found a way and notified my professors that I’ll be at a dentist appointment down in the Austin area and so I made everything work out and drove down from Arlington to my parents house in Kyle (3 1/2 hr drive). Now unfortunately there was frozen weather and so they cancelled my appointment the day before on Sunday 1/25/26. And I have pictures of proof. Now the unprofessional part is that my dad went down there to cancel services with them and spoke about this event. They had told him that they had called Thursday 1/22/26 about the cancellation of my appointment. This is wrong because even if I got a call from them that day I still had a reminder on Saturday 1/24/26 about my appointment then Sunday they told me it was cancelled. I understand that you can’t control the weather but do not lie about that you called me the 22nd about my appointment was cancelled when in fact it was still active and only cancelled the day before. This is very unprofessional and disrespectful of the staff and the dental office itself. Now the other instance of unprofessionalism is when my mother went in for her cleaning they wanted her to get a root canal on her tooth but my mother just wanted them to take it out. Now I don’t know the procedure if they can or cannot do that, which I am not a licensed dentist. The nurse told her that she can refer her to a place but she just wanted it out there rather than go to another place and pay them to take it out. The nurse went to go check with the dentist to see if they can do it and they decided to speak not too far from her and she heard everything. The dentist told the nurse to “just refer her to a place.” Rather than telling to my mother face to face about it. This is also unprofessional. Now I will say I did have good experiences when I would go to my appointments but these instances really frustrated me and really hurt me as a customer and a patient. I don’t look forward to returning to this place and so do my parents. This review is not in a way to deter other patients away from the establishment but a way to bring some things to light and express my disapproval of this establishment. I will also say that I have proof in photos and my call and message history that proves my experience and if I notice this review no longer on here, I will write another and will prove their that they are unprofessional.

I recommend Main Street Dental. I have been going there for 6 years and my experiences have been wonderful. My hygienist, Megan, is gentle and explains what she is doing. Everyone in the practice is friendly and helpful. Go there!

This is the first time in my 37 years I have found a dentist I plan to stay with. Dr. Koen is great at explaining what is going on in a way that is easy to understand. He is great at explaining what he thinks is the best course of action and why. Everyone else working in the office is also great. Added bonus is it's a very cool office in a historic house.
