MacGregor Dental

I received treatment at McGregor Dental through a grant that I worked very hard to obtain. I was grateful for the opportunity and expected quality care. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. I received two crowns, and both failed within months. I am now left with what are essentially two broken tooth remnants that are becoming painful and showing signs of infection. Instead of solving my dental problems, the treatment left me in a worse position than before. I have called the office multiple times seeking accountability and follow-up care. My messages have not been returned, and I have not received any meaningful response. That has been just as frustrating as the failed dental work itself. I understand that dental procedures can sometimes fail, and I wouldn’t judge an office solely because something went wrong. What concerns me most is the lack of communication and the feeling that no one is willing to stand behind the work that was performed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend McGregor Dental.

Okay, where do I even start? I’ve had dental anxiety since a childhood dentist apparently used a power drill and pure childhood trauma. That fear stuck with me into adulthood like a stubborn piece of popcorn kernel. So naturally, I ignored a tooth issue until it went full rebellion and turned into an abscess. Drama queen behavior, I know. I finally called Hannah Macgregor, got loaded up with antibiotics, and scheduled the extraction with Dr. Mitchell Macgregor. For two weeks I spiraled, convinced this was the end. Then I showed up and basically told him, “I want to be so numb you could run my head over with a tractor and I’d just ask for a pillow.” Without missing a beat, he looked at me and said, “Say less.” Four hours later I was still numb. My face felt like it had been Botoxed by a confused elephant. But here’s the best part: Dr. Macgregor talked me through every single step like the world’s calmest, coolest tour guide. “We’re going in… you’ll feel a little pressure… still good?” I barely had time to overthink before it was over. Less than an hour. I walked out feeling like an absolute fool for being so terrified. Would I recommend this clinic? ABSOLUTELY. These are hands-down the coolest dentists ever. They didn’t just fix my tooth — they fixed my lifelong fear with humor, patience, and tractor-level numbing. 10/10. Would get emotionally supported and mildly judged (in the nicest way) again.

I scheduled an appointment three months in advance and waited that entire time for treatment. However, I was informed only 24 hours before my scheduled appointment that you do not accept my insurance. This was extremely frustrating and inconvenient, especially after such a long wait. Insurance verification is typically handled well in advance of an appointment, not the day before. Had I been informed earlier, I could have made other arrangements and avoided wasting three months waiting for care I now cannot receive at your office. This situation caused unnecessary stress and delayed my dental care, and I hope your office will review its scheduling and insurance verification procedures so this does not happen to other patients in the future.

Frequent flyer to MacGregor Dental and I can't recommend them enough. They are always very clear on insurance and costs. Everyone is friendly, caring and easy to work with. And both doctors have incredible bedside manner and explain everything. To say I enjoy going might be a stretch, but they make it as painless as possible. Thank you!
