This office avoids explaining how much a procedure will cost until after you get in the chair. It is extremely unethical and they have done this to me on multiple occasions. They do not attempt to receive an estimate from your insurance prior to your appointment and when you ask about the cost of a procedure they tiptoe around it. I had to cancel an appointment and insist multiple times for them to contact my insurance, and it took them several weeks to contact my insurance for the estimate (which they could have done before my appointment). They don't even tell you a number-- they just tell you to press "Accept" the link that they send to your phone, but in that link is the cost amount of your procedure. Again, this is highly unethical and inappropriate. As a dental office you should not try to take advantage of people's insurance by avoiding to explain the cost of care until the patient insists you do it.
The hygienists are great and knowledgeable. The dentists are extremely careless and prescribed an antibiotic that patients are allergic to after pulling the teeth without confirming with the patient. The whole team did not have any aftercare, and it took two days for the patient to constantly visit the dentist to get the correct prescription. This overall is not acceptable. Only recommends cleaning services here. But overall, the experience is very good here, except for the extreme cases in antibiotic prescription.
I want to express my frustration about my appointment with Dr.Gargi. I received a phone call three minutes after my appointment time and was told that there was a strict five minute policy in place. I explained I was on my lunch break and on my way. I arrived approximately six minutes after my appointment time the front desk told me it was okay. The doctor would be with me shortly they would inform her I had arrived. Despite rushing to make the appointment I then waited over 30 minutes before being seen the actual interaction lasted a few minutes as a result I ended up returning back to work late. I understand offices run behind sometimes, but it feels unfair to enforce such a strict lateness policy for patient’s while the Doctor is not respecting anyones time in return. I would also like to know when my regular doctor is expected to return ? As I would prefer to continue care with her.
Everything seemed very focused on numbers and sales, which honestly made the whole experience feel like a money making opportunity rather than patient care. My hygienist seemed knowledgeable and thorough, but the doctor came in very pushy. When he walked me to the receptionist she verified my insurance and mentioned my sleep. Score was low, which she said was a good thing. She then told me I needed to pay nearly $100 for the product that hygienist had recommended. I agreed in the room because I trusted his advice. While I was waiting for my receipt, I overheard a conversation between staff members nearby one woman, loudly talking about numbers being down and needing to push production and the UPPERS not being happy. Another employee apologize and said May was a rough month for her, but promised that June she would get her numbers up hearing that immediately made me question whether I actually needed the product I had purchased or if I had been sold something for someone else’s bonus or quota, the receptionist then tried to make small talk with me asking about my summer plans, but by then at that point, I felt uncomfortable after everything I had overheard the whole experience left me thinking whether the recommendations were truly needed and for my health or was it really just a scheme for someone to make their numbers? The hygienist again was very knowledgeable and I felt he was very honest, but the women talking numbers and the UPPERS not being happy really made it seem like it was a Ponzi scheme.
Would have come as a new patient, but your person Jackie clearly does not want To be bothered. She is clearly in the wrong line of work. Customer service is not her specialty. She was impatient, rude and definitely did not give me a sense that she was there to help me so I will be finding another dentist.
They have the best care team. My hygienist I’ve been with her over a year, she’s amazingggg and thorough. Did my wisdom teeth extraction with them as well. The process was smooth and they made sure to follow up afterwards. Love them
There are better dentistry places around New Haven, believe me on this. I would look into other places before going here. I started going to this place in 2024. Went in for what I thought was a regular cleaning but found out I had a dental problem. By the end of my visit, scaling had been done and I was not even told it was happening. Needless to say it was extremely painful, I was not anesthetized just the regular numbing stuff. I had to pay $300 before I left. Soon after, I started having gum problems with a tooth, went in and the dentist said there was nothing wrong with it and that we could do scaling again on that tooth, about $400 was going to be cost. They also charge $50 for every bitewing x-Ray they took and I have never paid that much elsewhere with insurance. Maybe they just didn’t want to take the time to bill my insurance. So I switched denstists because of the fact that this place charges a ridiculous amount for anything they do and they can’t even diagnose properly. On top of that the hygienists are judgemental. After I complained about not knowing that scaling was done, the front desk woman put me with another hygienist which was not better than the previous one. She was not happy, she said that apparently they didn’t explain things to me which they didn’t. My tooth has been taken care of and no scaling needed or $400 dollars was needed either. Happy to have switched from here my family and I because we were not happy with this place. I haven’t had to pay anything for x-rays or additional costs with my current dentist. It can be difficult to find a good dentist and I would not recommend going here.
As someone visiting a dentist in another country for the first time, I was honestly a bit nervous, but from the moment I walked in, I felt completely comfortable and at ease. It was actually the first time I’ve ever had a cleaning with absolutely no pain at all! A special thank you to Elizabeth, who was incredibly kind and welcoming ☺️ She really took the time to listen to me, gave helpful advice, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire visit. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for professional and compassionate dental care.
