Mid Bay Dental - Niceville Dentist

This was the best dental facility I have ever been to. Very clean and state of the art technology. Ari was amazing- she did such a fantastic job. I learned more about my teeth than I ever have. The rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful too! Lori at the front desk was awesome. 👏 So pleased to have found this place!!

Lee, the dental hygienist was phenomenal! She was super attentive, careful and explained everything so well. She made my first visit here enjoyable. I highly recommend Mid Bay Dental.

Dr. Hood and her assistant were so patient with an extremely sensitive tooth I had. They made sure I had the proper amount of anesthesia and was as comfortable as possible prior to the procedure. The crown fits perfectly and I feel a thousand times better! Also, the dental hygienist, Lee, is so nice and does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. All around good experience at Mid Bay Dental.

Today I was supposed to have a "life altering" procedure done. It was an upper and lower Frenotomy. I had seen this new dentist in February, and she told me that this was contributing to my mouth breathing, congestion, jaw problems, mouth problems, dry mouth, insomnia, sleep apnea, and many other things. That the procedure would make a big improvement in my well being and health. I was very nervous about it, and they gave me a sheet that showed my cost share. I could not afford the $176.40 but decided I would do without groceries for feeling better. It was an early appointment. I don't usually do 9am ones, but it is all they offered. I was up early and was there 30 minutes early. I wasn't taken back until around 20 after. When I got back there she started explaining things to me, and gave me a chart that I needed to sign. Something came up that p882.rompted me to tell her that my cost share was only $176.40. She said she would check. She came back with a paper that said I had to pay $882. She told me my insurance did not cover it and they found out later. I told her that they should have called me and told me this. I was embarrassed, and felt foolish. I told her that I was sorry for wasting her time, but in reality it was my time that was wasted, and I got up early for nothing. My first visit was wonderful and hopeful. This was a disaster and heartbreaking. I called my insurance when I got home and they said they never have covered that procedure. I checked further and talked to my daughter who had to have it done on her infant son, that it is not a covered procedure under any insurance. They knew this. I am a widow that lives off of social security, not even enough to pay basic bills. I was going to make a big sacrifice to have a better existence. To have rest and peace. My teeth have always been a problem, as well as going to the dentist. My insurance said that the average amount for this procedure is about $216 per. I could not even afford that. I will have to continue to suffer. I will have to check all procedures with my dental carrier before scheduling an appointment in the future. I am not one that likes to write these kinds of reviews, but I hope this does not happen to someone else. I am not one that can just afford whatever, whenever. I do only basic care for me, if that.

My kids should be the ones writing this review!! They love having their teeth checked, cleaned, and complimented. The ladies at Mid bay Dental are welcoming and excellent with young patients. We appreciate the availability to work with our schedule. Our insurance company has been in and out of network over the years but we still have returned for the wonderful service.
